Skiing Destinations for the Whole Family in the UK

December is the season for Christmas and also one of the coldest months of the year. If you are planning a skiing trip for the New Year, there are a myriad of choice destinations in the UK for this winter sport and other activities the whole family will enjoy:

Milton Keynes

Located at about 45 miles north-west of London, this large town in Buckinghamshire, England is where you can learn indoor skiing and snowboarding. Snozone is the place you can go to if you want to have a different skiing experience. Moreover, there are other places of interest to visit while in MK, such as museums, shopping centres and amusement park. The whole family can go cycling, fishing and visit local exhibits all in one urban town.


Hemel Hempstead

Situated in Hertfordshire, in the East of England, this town also boasts of The Snow Centre where guests can enjoy indoor skiing and snowboarding. There are other sights to see as well. The Albans Cathedral is a Norman cathedral and one of the popular landmarks in the place where visitors get to join free tours and see medieval works of art.



Here, you can go to the Lecht Ski Centre, one of the resorts in the area for people looking for a quieter and smaller holiday destination. Part of the Cairngorms national park, this resort offers picturesque sceneries as well. Other things to do in Aberdeenshire include sightseeing, biking and guided tours. With more than 300 castles waiting to be explored, a weekend is not enough to spend here.


Halifax, West Yorkshire

This is the location of Halifax Ski & Snowboard Centre where the whole family can learn how to ski situated in hills above Halifax. This minster town also offers other tourist attractions, such as, the Shibden Hall, a 600-year-old manor and grounds, Piece Hall Museum and Bankfield Museum, to name a few.
