Traveling Into the Earth’s Soul: Vacation in Amazon

Named after female warriors in Greek mythology, the Amazon is a place with almost a mythical status. If you are an avid traveler, for sure you have imagined yourself stepping into the Amazon rainforest, not just to admire the amazing river and towering trees but also to enter the planet’s life spring – the source of the water we drink, the air we breathe and weather we heavily rely on.

 The Experience

Entering the world of Amazon is nothing like the Discovery Channel experience, however. There are no bundled jaguars in trees and definitely no spear-throwing indios lurking around the bends. In fact, Amazon’s experiences are more quintessential and sublime than extreme. Imagine relaxing in a hammock on a boat rowing up the river, canoeing through the lush forest or waking up to otherworldly cries of wild howler monkeys.

It may have a river of legendary size, but in the Amazon, it is the little things that will make your experience special. Just give it time, drop the expectations and this forest will not fail to impress you.

Travel Tips

Traveling to the Amazon is unlike any other trip. So, make sure you come ready and prepared. Here are some tips to get you started.

– Travel with a group and an experienced guide. The Amazon is a huge place and you will need someone with enough knowledge about the area, the animals and the plants.

– Stay in a jungle lodge. A lot of jungle lodges are based in the middle of the jungle, allowing you to experience the jungle life first hand.

– Visit indigenous communities. Although this can come quite expensive, meeting people living in a world entirely different to yours will cap your travel experience.

A trip to the Amazon is a daunting idea for the any traveler indeed. But plan it right and it will give you the experience of a lifetime.
