In Nuoro, in the heart of the island, there are villages and towns just 800 meters above sea level, with well preserved medieval architecture, which have been left completely untouched by the passage of time and seem to float in water, while in the northeastern part, the famous Costa Smeralda, Emerald Coast, is a cosmopolitan resort of the rich and famous.
