My travel journal to Alicante

Taking advantage of the last weekend I was in Alicante, so I decided to collect a few pictures of my last visits to the city and write a bit about it. The first time I was in Alicante was in the summer of 2010 and since then, I have been there a total of two times. Thanks to the affordable flights all my visits were within my budget. Is there more tourism in the city? Undoubtedly, the Castillo de Santa Barbara is very popular.

The Castle of Santa Barbara is located on top of Mount Benacantil, in the city of Alicante. It is unknown the exact time of its construction but archaeological remains from the Bronze Age have been found there. The castle can be visited both on the inside and the outside, which allows you to view the exhibitions of objects found in it and enjoy the view across the bay of Alicante, as I show in the following photos.

This year, my best Swedish friend came to visit and taking advantage of flights to Alicante with Monarch so as soon as he arrived in Alicante, he decided to spend the day doing some sightseeing around the city. Another of the most famous monuments of Alicante is the City Hall, known because it is called Dimension Zero, the reference point from which to measure the height above sea level of the different Spanish cities.

In addition, we walked along the boardwalk area and the wharf along the harbor, one of the most modern and tourist areas of the city because there you can see the modern Casino, the restaurant, boats anchored in the harbor and the beach Postiguet.
