How to Be Productive and Still Have Fun While on Vacation

Going on vacation is an opportunity to just relax and unwind. However, this doesn’t give you an excuse to veg out and do nothing all throughout the duration of your trip. You can’t still stay productive while traveling, and even mix business with pleasure in a less stressful way.

Don’t leave with deadlines looming on the horizon

Tie up loose ends before you travel. If there are projects that need to be done a day or a couple of days after you get back, you might as well finish them beforehand. This way, you can truly enjoy your vacation, rather than have that nagging feeling that looming deadlines always bring.

Bring small tasks with you

In the event that you really can’t finish a particular project, take it with you. Just don’t spend your entire holiday working on it. Break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks and then fit them into your schedule. You can always work on them in between sunbathing and scuba diving, or during breakfast. As small things add up, your work wouldn’t have to be so hard and time-consuming the moment you return home.

Keep your brain active

Being productive doesn’t always mean getting work done. You can accomplish just as much by spending your time wisely. For instance, if you have yet to experience scuba diving, get a PADI certification during your trip. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone, since you learn something and have fun at the same time.  You get to take home a new skill in the bargain as well.

Stay healthy

If you can’t get lazy during your vacation, you should not go off the healthy track as well. Make sure you don’t come home with an extra inch on your waistline, or that you feel sluggish all of a sudden. Schedule time to exercise, don’t overindulge on food and drink, and don’t oversleep.
