Holidays in Lanzarote

This year, my girlfriend and I decided to make a radical change to our holiday. So we traveled together by air for the first time, went to a great hotel with pool and buffet for the first time and visited the Canary Islands for the first time. More specifically, we opted for some amazing Lanzarote holidays. The radical change worked because our short week vacation went from being a haunting journey into the unknown to a warm reunion with the known. For a change, we did not really know where we were going. That’s usually our modus operandi: choose a place that is inviting us for anything.

That modus operandi had always worked like a charm but this time it had to wait. Our imagination was expecting something like the Caribbean. Not that I had not warned us: Lanzarote is different, because it is a volcanic island. But the rest of the Canary Islands are also. Fortunately, gradually we became familiar with the island and learned to appreciate it. First, the wind, an inhabitant whose absence is suffering much more than its abundance. We speak of the weather in Lanzarote. Without our beloved trade winds, Lanzarote cannot breathe. Afterwards we visited the beach. It was white sand and turquoise clear waters that I had not seen in my life. Although water was pretty cold at first contrary to what happens in the Atlantic coast of Galicia or Portugal, in minutes you could reach the thermic sensation of absolute well-being that could be maintained for hours.

Though what surprised us without doubt, was the flora. Because in that black and red soil also grow plants, some of which we did not know: the case of cactus or euphorbia Canary, a species of endemic like a hybrid between a tree and a cactus that is dedicated to photographing compulsively. I also was thrilled to see blooming aloe vera, because I had read that it was something very rare. Finally, the fauna: dozens of love kittens of all ages and sizes, who also lived in tourism. Livelihoods are earned through meows, purrs, stroking the back and requests of pampering! Thanks to them, I could stand a little better the absence of being in Madrid. My girlfriend and I agree that we wanted to have taken a few. But the best part of the trip was a reunion with ourselves, with our love which was evident in long conversations with laughter in pampering, winks, pats in moments of passion. Our love which had become routine was reinvented in a sweet little piece of paradise on earth. It was very enjoyable and amazing to spend our holidays in Lanzarote.
