Costa Rica | Punta Uva and other beautiful beaches

In the vicinity of Puerto Viejo of Talamanca in South Caribbean Costa Rica you’ll find some of the most beautiful beaches in the country and the world. Very near are the very people of Puerto Viejo in Playa Negra which is of great beauty and has the black sand, a peculiarity unique in the area. In Playa Cocles, Playa Chiquita and Punta Uva are three , six and nine miles respectively from Puerto Viejo. On the road to Manzanillo you can enjoy idyllic images with silky sand beaches shaped by crystal clear waters and green palm trees that stand a few meters from the sea. These locations are excellent for snorkeling and diving among coral or resting on the sand and getting carried by the senses in the warm Caribbean waters. Surfing enthusiasts can download your adrenaline to slide your board on the dreaded Salsa Brava beach in Cocles with the most powerful waves of Rican Caribbean as well as Costa Rica. This beach is especially dedicated to surfers.

All these beaches that appear in the coastal trail of Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo are like from a movie. Unique, wild with very few people surrounded by a nature full dense with tropical flora and fauna. All cabins or hotels that are offered to tourists are of a proper quality level. There are no resorts or golf courses or marinas.  Along the coast there are emblematic places with beautiful beaches and beach bars or restaurants where meals offer a quality well priced and always with great Imperial and Pilsen beers on hand.

In the Playa Chiquita is located the Jaguar Rescue Center. This is a unique and very commendable center led by an Italian Spanish couple to interact with wildlife in Costa Rica and help a good cause. It is a rehabilitation center for injured animals, abused and forfeited reintroduced to their natural habitat in protected areas. You can visit providing a donation, and during the visit you will be in contact with monkeys, cats, toucans, sloths, raccoons, anteaters, marsupials, reptiles, amphibians, etc. All these animals live in the center in a state of semi freedom waiting to cope with life in the wild. You can also observe all the venomous snakes of Costa Rica.
