The perfect destination for travellers that look for a different sightseeing, an exciting trip and a close look at nature is in the Amazon of South America. The Amazon is one of the largest rivers of the world, which runs through South America from the Andes to the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean. Considered the second longest river in the world, after the Nile, has the length of 6.400 km. However, the length of whichever is the point of the estuary reaches 7.000 km, so it is the longest river on Earth. It is estimated that one fifth of its total freshwater that flows to the surface of earth is transferred from the Amazon. As a source it has been recognized that it’s located in southern Peru.

Named by the Spanish conqueror Francisco de Orellana, who sailed the river in 1541-1542. Along the way he met tribes with women fighting on the ground and gave him the name Amazon (Río de las Amazonas).
