Many characterize it as the Paris of South America. Buenos Aires, Argentina is just that and much more. It is a city with a large, spacious boulevards and buildings reminiscent of the French capital, but also a city with many different and exciting aspects. No need to say more. Buenos Aires is one of the most heady cities of South America. Follow us on a day trip in the capital of Argentina. Start your day in downtown Buenos Aires and the historic square Plaza de Mayo.

The pink Casa Rosada presidential palace stands. Evita Peron roused the crowds from the balconies, while Diego Maradona picked up from there the world cup. Head to the west of the boulevard Avenida de Mayo and admire the facades of buildings, reminiscent of Parisian palaces. Make a stop at the Palacio Barolo, a landmark building inspired by Dante’s Inferno.

Sip your coffee and try the local butter croissant the lovely Café Tortoni, operating since 1858 and is the oldest cafés in town. Then proceed until you reach the square Plaza del Congreso, with the huge dome of Congress dominates over a mosaic patriotic statues and small fountains. Cross the busy Avenida 9 de Julio, the heart of Buenos Aires and end the majestic Teatro Colón.

Get in a cab and head to the Recoleta neighborhood for a more macabre visit. In Recoleta cemetery are buried presidents, military leaders and of course there is the mausoleum of Evita Peron. From there, do not miss a visit to the museum of fine arts Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and the Museum of Modern Art of Latin America MALBA.
